This holiday season, there’s a brand-new reason to celebrate in the city: a fresh, kid-powered take on Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol is lighting up the stage at San Francisco’s Young Performers Theatre (YPT).
Written by 13-year-old actress and playwright Katherine Gargiulo and performed entirely by children ages 4 to 13, this inventive adaptation brings new heart and energy to the timeless story of Scrooge, Tiny Tim, and the true spirit of Christmas. In this version, the youngest characters step into the spotlight—giving audiences a chance to rediscover the classic tale through the imagination and voices of San Francisco’s kids.
Set in the cozy, historic YPT space at Fort Mason, the production is the perfect family outing—full of warmth, laughter, and a touch of holiday sparkle. It’s a must-see event for anyone looking to celebrate the season while supporting young local artists and a beloved community theater.
