There was a time when wine beverages were my go to for winding down from a long day, long week or long series of life events. I was a proud member of the moms club that needed it to soothe the stress of motherhood, co-parenting and balancing work. Wine tasted great going down my throat. The onset buzz was always a wonderful experience but the offset experience was always a painful and sometimes regretful feeling. Since the pandemic started, I switched my “mommy juice” from a glass of wine to a glass of cannabis infused beverages. For me, cannabis infused beverages were a healthier alternative to alcohol. Also, hangover’s are not fun, especially if we have to balance children, career and life the next day.
Cannabis through drinkables is one of the new socially acceptable and responsible ways for consumers to currently consume. For some of us craving better alternatives I made a list for your solo Netflix binging night or if you want to share it at an indoor dinner party for other moms needing a new type of buzz.
Selections for self care sessions or social gatherings
Rickett Brewing’s Jolie Fleur Pink is my favorite go-to when I want to pop a bottle to celebrate the little career accomplishments that take me a step closer to my professional dreams. The style is elegant and calls for a celebration. The flavor is sweet with a tiny tart of raspberry yumminess. It’s dry with a weightless mouthfeel and a refreshing light cannabis finish. The whole 375 ML bottle only has 10mg of THC, which is perfect for solo celebrations.
House of Saka White is probably the only white chardonnay that I enjoy drinking. I am a red gal but the HOS White has found its place on my wine rack. The dealcoholized beverage is handcrafted from white varietal grapes grown in select vineyards within California’s iconic Napa Valley. WHITE offers mouth-watering aromas of ripe peach, apricot and toasty oak combined with rich, buttery vanilla and tropical fruit flavors balanced with mild acidity and a long, pleasing finish.
Viv&Oak Shimmering Scarlett is my go to option for the nights I want to be wine drunk to the point that I doze off into a peaceful night sleep without even realizing it. The Shimmering Scarlett 750ml bottle packs that perfect sleep punch at 50mg per bottle. Scarlett provides 5 servings per bottle at a Serving Size of 10mg per 5oz. I suggest consuming this slowly and at one serving per night. It’s definitely a product to be savored and enjoyed slowly spread across multiple nights versus consumption of a whole bottle in one night.
Mad Lilly Spritzers is a great option I use for my girls night in sessions. I love all their flavors. Each product has the perfect ratio of THC to CBD, providing a nice balanced head high experience. Each sip makes you feel weightless and keeps you alert with your gossip sessions with your girlfriends. I recommend all flavors for your next girl gathering session.
Pabst Labs Cannabis Seltzer Last but not least, my favorite to hand out and share during a family gathering is the Pabst Labs lemon seltzer. I’ll take this over a white claw any day! The iconic PBR beer company extended their product line and entered the cannabis space with this delicious seltzer. Even the hard core beer drinkers in my family give this baby two thumbs up. Each 12oz can has 5mg of THC, which is perfect for a light buzz during social gatherings.
Consumption of cannabis infused beverages should be normalized. These products have all played a part in my consumption increase of cannabis infused beverages. I don’t miss wine & I don’t miss alcohol in general. I found an alternative solution that provides the nice buzz I love but does not cause me to wake up with a hangover or feeling like crap. I instead wake up refreshed & ready to take on the kids, work and the world. I look forward to the day where all public retailers (not just dispensaries) are also allowed to sell de-alcoholized cannabis infused beverages.
