Delivery Dry Cleaning: The Rinse Experience Is a Definite Repeat

This post is sponsored, but the opinions are 100% our own.

I’ve been fortunate to have dry-cleaning services wherever I have worked, but this is not always as convenient as it sounds.  Special items, like my heavy blankets, are too big to lug to work.  I’ve had certain items rejected, like my multi-colored dresses that have the potential to bleed colors, and, sometimes, I just don’t want to carry my clothes to and from the office.

Convenience and an easy service experience are essential to me, especially as a working parent, so when the opportunity arose to try Rinse, a pick-up and delivery dry-cleaning and laundry service, I was all in.

How It Works

Like most services these days, you begin by signing up, setting a profile online, and downloading the app. There is no cost to sign up, but you do need to register a credit card for payment of any laundered clothes.  Your profile is also where you log your delivery address and laundering preferences, like using scented soap or adding fabric softener. Rinse’s website provides customers with comprehensive information on how their service works, how customers prepare for pickup and delivery, and pricing.

Rinse does pick-up and delivery services seven days a week, between 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM, and provides the bags to divide your soiled clothes: white (dry-clean), blue (hang dry), and black (wash and fold). Once you schedule your delivery date, they will send a text message to your phone to inform you when they are close by to collect your items. Laundering takes 2-3 days. On the day of delivery, they send text messages to your phone to inform you when they are on their way for delivery. Easy. I couldn’t wait to schedule my first pick-up!

My First Rinse

I selected items that were a little more challenging to clean and a few larger pieces that would require longer washing: two multicolored dresses, a white blazer, and my husband’s tan suit for dry cleaning and a king-sized red blanket for washing.

dry cleaning delivery San FranciscoI snapped photos of the items, so I would remember what pieces I sent. Joey, the Valet, arrived in a Rinse logoed pullover and gave me my different colored bags, all labeled with my name and address. He asked when I wanted them returned, and I requested the standard delivery date, which was Tuesday, just three days later. That Tuesday night, Alexis arrived with my clean clothes and the receipt was sent to my email address. All five items arrived intact and clean. The red blanket was as good as new and devoid of any chemical scents.

I’ll admit that the pickup and delivery time range of 8:00 to 10:00 PM is a little late for my family on weeknights, but for the weekend, it was doable. I would be willing to pay a premium for an earlier delivery, though, like 6:00 to 8:00 PM or 7:00 to 9:00 PM, so the timing would better suit my family’s needs.

It also would have been great to receive an email acknowledging the items I sent in with an estimated cost of the cleaning, so I had a comparison of what I sent versus what was returned. Fortunately, everything was delivered to me good as new, and they did send a receipt after I had received my cleaned items. I asked Rinse about this, and they said I should have received a pickup confirmation email after the Valet collected my items, which would have included pictures of each item in the dry clean bag. They’re trouble shooting why I didn’t get this and said they’re exploring ways to provide an estimated cost of cleaning at the point of delivery.

I appreciated their follow-up on this and was extremely satisfied with my Rinse experience. The service is convenient and easy to use, and they kept in constant communication on the status of my order. Their pricing was in line with my local dry cleaners, and, most importantly, my items were cleaned well. I’ll be setting up another pick up with them soon. Rinse and repeat!
