Imagine a space where girls can’t wait to do math…
They are curious, collaborative, and creative.
They are empowered, kind, and ready to lead.
… Can’t imagine it?

Then you haven’t experienced Girls Rock Math. But you’re in luck, because this summer, Girls Rock Math is finally coming to Marin County!

Girls Rock Math is an award-winning art-based STEM camp that’s been inspiring elementary girls for over a decade in Seattle. The reason Girls Rock Math works? The girls are excited about what they are learning because the activities are crafted with them in mind. We take what young girls love – arts and crafts, games, songs, storytelling, and imaginative play and then find innovative ways to incorporate math into them. On top of all of this, the girls are surrounded by supportive teachers and counselors who have a deep love for math themselves and are passionate about growing this love in the girls they are working with.

Math + Art = Fun

Campers explore the geometric concept of tessellations, a pattern that can repeat infinitely, and create a tessellation stamp that they use to create a beautiful painting.

Girls Rock Math Is for Math Enthusiasts, the Number-Shy, and Everyone in Between

You might be thinking, “My child hates math—there’s no way they’d enjoy a math camp.”
But if that sounds like your child, this is exactly the camp they need this summer.

At Girls Rock Math, we know that math often gets a bad reputation. For many kids, it’s a subject that feels intimidating, frustrating, or just plain boring. But we don’t believe math is the problem—we believe it’s how it’s been presented. Our mission is to change that.

We create an environment where all learners are valued—where kids feel safe exploring new ideas, making mistakes, and thinking creatively. We ask open-ended questions, encourage collaboration, and celebrate different approaches. Campers aren’t expected to have memorized formulas or get the “right” answer—they’re invited to play, explore, and discover how math connects to the real world.

Whether your child is a math lover or math reluctant, they’ll find a space here to grow, build confidence, and feel inspired.

And here’s the truth: without a foundation in math, the opportunities available to kids shrink. But when they see math as something they can do—and even enjoy—that changes everything.

At Girls Rock Math, we believe every child deserves the chance to love math without being judged, labeled, or left behind. Our trained teachers and caring counselors help campers of all levels feel seen, heard, and capable.

Because when math is creative, hands-on, and low-pressure, something incredible happens — Kids start having fun.

Don’t just take it from us, here’s what the parents and campers have to say:

“First of all, I want to say again how much Imani loved camp. She has been going around telling everyone that her favorite dessert is 3.14159. Math jokes! I love it. She also came back each day telling me that you didn’t do much math. Looking at the folder she brought home and your newsletter, I can see that you did tons of math, impressive amounts of math. Which speaks to the fact that it was fun for her, and didn’t feel like work. I think this opened her eyes to a lot of things, not the least of which is that math is more than arithmetic. I loved all the women in history stuff, and I thought the girl power things were strong without being overdone. I have been recommending your camp to everyone.”
Parent of a second grader

“Our daughter attended Girls Rock Math last summer for two weeks and has never again uttered the words ‘I hate math’. She is now asking about geometry and wondering what she can do in life with a math education. She has made new friends at camp as well as spent time with old friends. This has been a great experience for the whole family.”
– Parent of a third grader

“It’s fun, it sounds like just math, but it really is suppppperrrr fun. They show math in a different way. A cool way. They make you think. Now I’ve been to this camp and realized math can be fun!”

What Does Camp Look Like?

Times: Camp runs from 9:30-3:30 with extended care options ranging from 8:30 to 5:30.

STEAM Projects: Campers dive into three hands-on STEAM activity blocks each day. These projects are creative, engaging, and designed to build real math confidence through play and exploration.

Lots of Outside Play: We believe movement and fresh air are essential! Campers enjoy multiple outdoor breaks, including morning recess, lunch recess, and end-of-day choice time or another recess block.

Social Emotional Learning: Each day includes Circle Up, a small-group check-in with their counselor focused on important SEL themes. Topics rotate weekly and include:

  • Friendship & Inclusion
  • Growth Mindset
  • Bravery & Speaking Up
  • Celebrating Individuality
  • Leadership & Collaboration

We also introduce campers to STEM careers and real-world applications to help them see what’s possible!

Read-Alouds: Each day, campers enjoy an inspiring read-aloud featuring a woman in STEM who made a lasting impact in her field.

Friday Fun Day: Fridays are all about camp spirit and celebration! Campers come dressed up in themes ranging from Silly Socks to Rainbow Day and everything in between! In the afternoon, we have Spray Day, where campers splash, spray, and play wet and wild games. The,n to finish off the week, we have a celebration where we thank and appreciate one another and the staff, and everyone gets a pin for their years at camp.

But we don’t wanna give away all the magic, come check it out for yourself!
