Friday Faves & Finds (4.27.18)

week in reviewToday is the last Friday in April, can you believe it?! Summer is only two months away, so we better soak up all the sweetness of spring while we can. There are so many things I love about spring: the produce (asparagus= my favorite vegetable, remember?), the wildflowers, the unpredictable weather, and the evenings that start feeling warmer and lighter. We spent last weekend at the farmers market and the beach, and plan to get outside as much as we can this weekend as well. I hope you have some spring-y plans this weekend (ex: have a spritz, make pasta with fresh peas and asparagus, or eat strawberries with every meal) and really embrace the season!

“Being a feminist and a stay-at-home mom are not mutually exclusive.” Amen.

My son is NOT into hats right now but also hates wearing sunscreen. Typical toddler dilemma. Maybe he just needs an adorable new hat? I also have a slight aversion to hats but feel like it’s time to suck it up and protect my skin. Any women’s hats you love? I want to avoid looking like I’m wearing a disguise…

I’m on a roll right now, reading one great book after the next. Halfway done with this one and I’d already recommended it.

This book for kiddos has beautiful illustrations and an important message.

Thinking about getting on the Allbirds train, but the ones I want are sold out in my size. Are they worth the wait, and do they live up to the hype?

What better way to embrace the spirit of spring than by drinking spirits? A Strawberry French 75 and a G&T with a twist- this is my kind of list.

I have my eye on these shorts for the warmer days ahead. I feel like the only people in San Francisco who wear shorts are tourists, but I might just be brave and go for it.

Kate grew up in sunny San Diego and is a beach girl at heart. She moved to the Bay Area to attend Cal (Go Bears!), where she studied Sociology and met her husband Zack. She has a Masters in Education from UC Santa Cruz and taught middle school in Santa Rosa and Austin, Texas before her son Henry was born in 2016. The family of three moved to San Francisco in February 2017 and miss good barbeque, but enjoy exploring the city together. Kate loves spending time outdoors with Henry, usually hiking or hanging out at the playground. When Henry is sleeping, you can find her cooking, curled up on the couch with a new book or working on her headstand in a yoga class.
