Welcome to the weekend! We spent last weekend in Austin (where we lived before we moved to SF) and had the best time! It’s such a kid-friendly city, with so much delicious food and tons of things to do outdoors. If you haven’t been, you have to go check it out! This weekend we plan to lay low, get outside together, and catch up on things around the house. I hope your weekend is both fun-filled and restful. It’s all about balance, right?

Are you signed up for SF Library’s Summer Stride reading program? I’m so excited my son is old enough to really participate this year- I even signed myself up too! I loved summer reading challenges when I was a kid, and can’t wait to share this with my son. It is super quick and easy to sign up, so head to your local branch and make it happen if you haven’t already!
Speaking of reading, have you read They All Saw a Cat? My son and I love the author’s new book, Hello Hello, even more. The book features so many odd and beautiful animals, many of which are vulnerable or endangered species.
When I finish a great book, I often have a hard time starting something new. Does that ever happen to you? I finished Educated last week and still cannot stop thinking about it. If you need a good read, this remarkable memoir is the one.
My husband came home from work on Wednesday and claimed he wasn’t very hungry. He then sat down and proceeded to inhale three servings of this. Needless to say, this recipe is a hit, and I’ll be making it again next week!
Last year I went wild during cherry season and pitted a 5-pound bag of cherries by hand – did you know there’s such thing as a cherry pitter? This recipe made all the work and stained fingers worth it, and I plan on making it again ASAP.
I feel like sneakers are really having a moment right now, which is a fashion trend most moms I know can really get behind. I care less about trends than comfort, but it’s pretty sweet when the two align, don’t you think? If you need some sneaker inspiration, look no further.
I live in a one bedroom apartment with a toddler: some days I love it (less cleaning, less stuff!) and some days it feels like the walls are closing in. This local house tour inspired me to get creative and embrace our tiny living quarters! Maybe cramped is the new cozy.
