International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day is celebrated every March 8. According to the International Women’s Day websiteInternational Women’s Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality. IWD has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere. IWD is not country, group or organization specific.

There theme this year is Choose to Challenge because “a challenged world is an alert world and from challenge comes change. So let’s all choose to challenge.” There are many things we can do to #ChooseToChallenge including using the templates that are on IWD for social media, support women owned businesses, share local events, and educate yourself on international issues that women are facing.

I created the content for this presentation on International Women’s Day. As you travel around each continent, read about key issues and what the solutions and how you can help.
