Happy Friday! This weekend we’re off to visit the grandparents and celebrate our five year wedding anniversary. I can’t believe it’s been five years already! I love the life we’re building together, and I feel lucky that my son and I have such a supportive hands-on dad in our lives. Aside from our anniversary celebration, we are so excited for backyard barbequing, Fourth of July fireworks, hiking and family time in the mountains. I hope you have a wonderful weekend with your family and a festive Fourth next week!

San Francisco Moms Blog is taking a two-week break beginning Monday, so I’ll be back with weekly links on July 20th. Until then, enjoy the links below!

Pro-Pouch?

Are you pro-baby food pouch? I’m not a fan for environmental reasons, but this is an interesting read about the possible effects that heavy reliance on pouches could have on eating habits.

Distracted Parenting

Do you limit screen time for your kiddos? What about for yourself? I try to keep my phone out of sight when I’m with my son, but it’s tough! This article reveals some troubling results of “distracted parenting” and inspires me to do better and stay present. Thoughts?

Summer Playlist

Let’s lighten things up a bit…

A summer playlist with mellow vibes is a perfect way to wind down before dinner time when everyone tends to be worn out and hungry. On the sunny evenings we’ve had lately, I’ve been folding laundry, tidying up the apartment or cooking dinner while sipping a cold beverage and listening to this one.

Summer Pasta Recipe

Pasta with zucchini, fresh basil and parmesan– sounds like the perfect, simple summer meal to me! I love the idea of cooking the zucchini down until it caramelizes, breaks down and becomes the sauce. Can’t wait to try this one!

Switch Up Your Face Wash

I recently bought a new cleanser that is doing wonders for my skin. It washes away all the sunscreen, makeup and sweat on my face without stripping my sensitive skin. Bonus- it smells like fresh strawberries!

We All Scream for Ice Cream

Are you on team ice cream or team soft serve? This list of the City’s best soft serve spots might just change your vote.

Restore the Order

Kids thrive on routine, but in the summertime, it’s easy for routines to fall apart. With lots of summer travel, camps or other fun activities, it can be hard to maintain structure at home. I love these summer morning routine printables because they’re a customizable, visual way to help kids practice sticking to their routine and completing chores before summer fun. My son is a little young for these, but I can’t wait to implement systems like this as he gets older!
