Welcome Back! After two weeks off for the blog’s summer break, it feels good to be back. I head off this weekend for a short but sweet trip to Denver to test drive some cars and explore the mountains. You’ll hear more about the trip when I get back, because my family and I are being hosted by one of the blog’s generous sponsors! Have a wonderful weekend, and enjoy some fun links below!
Pro Packing Tips
I used to make mindless packing errors, like packing shorts instead of the jeans I meant to grab or entirely forgetting underwear. Traveling frequently with a small child forced me to get organized, but I’m always looking for tips on how to pack efficiently and fashionably for vacation. This guide to packing 18 outfits into one carry on makes me want to plan one more summer trip in August just to try it out!
Head to a Tiki Bar
How can you experience the festive, rum-soaked energy of a tropical island vacation without ever leaving the Bay Area? Head to a tiki bar, of course! I recently went to Three Dots and a Dash in Chicago and had the best time. I’ve been to Smuggler’s Cove, and can’t wait to visit some of the other local tiki bars on this list.
Love at First Wash
I was over at a friend’s house the other day, and fell in love with the hand soap in her bathroom. The smell was so light and fresh, I went to the bathroom before we left just to use it again! Are there any household products you like to splurge on?
That Book Fuuuunnnny!
My son is just starting to string sentences together and has been cracking me up with all sorts of silly new phrases. The other day, he pointed to this book and said, “That book fuuunnnyyy.” Take his word for it and check it out, it’s a cute read.
Read Up
Do you have a summer reading list? I read a lot year round, but like adding a few extra novels to my list in the summertime. It reminds me of pre-toddler days when I had summers off and did a lot of uninterrupted reading and lounging. Next on my list are this thriller and this romance.
Armour Up
Have you been to the beautiful Amour Vert shop in Hayes Valley? All the clothes are sustainably made in the US, using high quality fabrics. I can’t wait to add some of their unique, feminine pieces to my wardrobe- I’m just waiting until my son is out of the toddler stage and no longer wiping his dirty hands on me! Berry-stained hands + soft silk = no thank you!
